Fuelled by the fundraising success of the annual West End Bake Off, theatrical charity Acting For Others has announced plans for a West End Flea Market in May.
The pop-up event at The Actors’ Church, St Pauls in Covent Garden on Saturday 18 May, will feature a variety of stalls selling showbusiness memorabilia including signed posters and photographs and props form some of the West End’s favourite shows.
Following the hit formula established by four years of West End Bake Off, the West End Flea Market will be a star-studded fundraiser for Acting For Others, the umbrella organisation that represents 15 UK theatrical charities.
Performers and creatives from the West End’s biggest shows will compete to win the title of Best Dressed Stall, with proceeds from the day going to the charitable group which offers emotional and financial support to members of the entertainment industry who have fallen on hard times.
The event will be free to members of the public to attend and cheer on their favourite show. Open from 10.45am until 1pm, the event will involve signings and auctions and will offer theatre lovers the chance to mingle with cast and crew from the participating shows.
