Louise Redknapp will return to the West End this summer to play Teen Angel in Jim Jacobs and Warren Casey’s Grease as it returns to the Dominion Theatre for another summer season.
The former pop star who made her West End debut in 2019 as Violet Newstead in 9 to 5 The Musical will appear in the hit production from 2 June until 29 July (excluding Mondays). She will star alongside returning 2022 cast members Dan Partridge as Danny, Olivia Moore as Sandy and Jocasta Almgill as Rizzo.
Directed by Leicester Curve’s artistic director Nikolai Foster and choreographed by Arlene Phillips, the hit new production which was seen by over 500,000 people in the West End last year is due to be back at the Dominion from 2 June until 28 October.
The encore season of the first new production of Grease in the West End for 29 years will be dedicated to the memory of Olivia Newton-John who sadly passed away in August last year.
Written by Jim Jacobs and Warren Casey, with additional songs by John Farrar, the story of Sandy, Danny and Rydell High made its debut on stage in Chicago in 1971 before arriving on Broadway in 1972 and first appearing in the West End a year later.
The 1978 film adaptation starring John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John is the fourth highest-grossing live action musical of all time and celebrated its 40th anniversary in 2018. The musical features songs, including ‘Summer Nights’, ‘Hopelessly Devoted to You’ and ‘You’re the One That I Want’.
