Alice Fearn to host new live-stream Intermissions series

Come From Away and Wickeds Alice Fearn is to host four interactive shows from her own home featuring live music from West End stars and recent graduates.

Produced in partnership with AKT London and Stage Door, each of the four shows in the Intermissions The Summer Edition series will feature a mix of music and interviews.

Running every Friday evening for four weeks from 17 July 2020, each show will be streamed live from an outdoor location with a three-camera set-up and a small crew adhering to social-distancing guidelines. Guests will include Shan Ako (Les Misérables The Staged Concert, Gielgud Theatre, Les Misérables, Sondheim Theatre) and Dear Evan Hansen’s Sam Tutty. Further guests will be announced soon.

Announcing the series, creator Fearn said: “In a time where we can’t be doing what we love, I wanted to create a space where we could keep theatre alive. Intermissions is a live gig with a difference raising money for four important causes and featuring both West End stars and new graduates who are coming out into an industry that is currently quiet.

“I’ll be chatting to the guests and asking them how the lockdown experience has been, we’ll have live performances and so much more. The best part? It’s all from the comfort of my garden. Theatre is something that we all feel so strongly/passionately about so I’m thrilled we can make this work and can’t wait to get started on July 17th.”

Co-conceived and directed by Kirk Jameson, the creative team includes technical director Jake Waby and musical director Nick Barstow.

On sale from 10am tomorrow (1 July), tickets cost £9 with £1 from each ticket sold to be donated to a different charity every week, beginning with Acting For Others for episode one.
