West End favourites Kerry Ellis, Alice Fearn and Jon Robyns will be among the stars bringing a touch of musical theatre magic to a shopping centre car park this summer.
With indoor performances still stalled due to the Covid-crisis, West End Musical Drive-In will offer a socially distanced musical theatre celebration to audiences in their own cars.
Running from Saturday 25 July until the end of August, the shows will feature live performances of musical theatre favourites from West End stars on stage and projected onto three large screens with sound provided via a tailor-made FM radio frequency. Audiences will be able to enjoy the show from the comfort of their own vehicles or join the party outside in their own designated space next to their car.
The series will launch with Ellis (Wicked, We Will Rock You, My Fair Lady), Fearn (Wicked, Come From Away, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels) and Jon Robyns (Les Misérables, Hamilton, The Wedding Singer).
Presented by the team behind the popular West End Musical Brunch events, the West End Musical Drive-In experience will be on offer at The Drive In, Troubadour Meridian Water, Harbet Road, London.
Produced by Neighbourhood Events Ltd, the West End Musical Drive-In has been created with close attention to adhering to safety guidelines to ensure attendees have a safe and enjoyable experience. Tickets will be scanned through windows, all purchases of food or drink will be contactless and delivered directly to the cars. There will be a double the amount of on-site facilities and cleaning and sanitation will take place throughout the performance. Tickets are priced at £42.50 per attendee with up to six attendees allowed per car.
