The Royal Shakespeare Company’s West End production of Matilda The Musical is the latest hit show to announce reopening plans with performances due to resume at the Cambridge Theatre from 16 September 2021.
Announcing the imminent return of the multi award-winning show which will celebrate a decade in the West End this autumn, RSC executive director Catherine Mallyon said: “It is fantastic to see London’s West End reopening and for our company, freelance colleagues, and creative team to be back at the Cambridge Theatre, preparing for performances in the autumn.
“We all know how challenging the past year has been, and that makes this moment even more special and important. We will not only celebrate 10 brilliant years of Matilda The Musical in the West End but also that our audiences can join us once again to experience the power of live theatre.”
With full casting to be announced, the new booking period for the longest-running production at the Cambridge Theatre will run from 16 September 2021 until 13 February 2022 with tickets going on sale from 10 May.

The production which has been seen by nearly four million people is now the sixth longest-running show in the West End and the 16th longest-running musical in West End history.
Winner of 99 major international awards, including a record-breaking seven Olivier Awards and a total of 24 for Best Musical, Matilda The Musical has enchanted audiences in cities across the world.
Productions have toured the UK and Ireland, North America, Australia, New Zealand, and China. The musical’s first non-English language production played Seoul in South Korea in 2018/2019.
