It’s been a while since we heard from Gary Williams on a new recording, but he has gifted us a lovely little EP for 2021.
Five tracks: ‘I’m Coming Home for Christmas’, ‘The Most Wonderful Time of the Year’, ‘I’ll Be Home for Christmas’, ‘What Are You Doing New Year’s Eve?’ and ‘White Christmas’.
The title track is one written by Williams with his co-writer Jon Nickoll. It is all the more poignant because he wrote it for his family, who he hasn’t seen at Christmas for quite a number of years, as he is always working. This year will be different though and he will be home for Christmas, and I am sure he will have a wonderful time.
Williams obviously loves Christmas songs and this is evident in his unique renditions, inspired by crooners such as Frank Sinatra, Bing Crosby and Andy Williams.
