The acclaimed London based, Chickenshed theatre company has launched #VirtualChickenshed as a way to reach out to the community throughout the current crisis.
As well as continuing to deliver workshops to members and education programming for students on the company’s BTEC, Foundation Degree and BA(Hons) courses, the wider community will be also be offered access to their work.
Launching this week (16 April 2020), Tales TV is aimed at children from 0-6 years old and their parents/carers. Airing twice a week on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 11am, each episode will feature the Tales from the Shed team offering creative ways to keep children occupied and entertained during lockdown.
Each episode will offer something different, ranging from stories and songs and chances to learn dance moves and sign language to entertaining contributions from Blurgh and his friends.
Viewers will get the chance to interact with the show by emailing pictures or videos to tales@chickenshed.org.uk.
Other offerings from Chickenshed in the virtual world will include the YouTube premiere of the company’s spring show Waiting for the Ship to Sail (17 April at 7.30pm). The show’s live run was cut short last month when the theatres closed their doors.
