The full cast has been confirmed for the eagerly anticipated debut of Clueless, The Musical at London’s Trafalgar Theatre next month.
As previously announced Emma Flynn (Beautiful, Little Shop of Horrors) will make her West End debut as teenage matchmaker Cher Horowitz star alongside Keelan McAuley (Heathers The Musical, Grease) as Josh in first London production of the newest stage musical adaptation of the hit 1990s film Clueless.
They will be joined by Chyna-Rose Frederick as Dionne, Romona Lewis-Malley as Tai, Rabi Kondé as Murray, Isaac J Lewis as Christian, Blake Jordan as Travis, Max Mirza as Elton, Ryan O’Donnell as Mel/Mr Hall/Driving Instructor, Imelda Warren-Green as Miss G/Ms S/Lucy/Heather and Emily Florence as Amber.
The ensemble will be made up of Sophie Elmes, Jacob Fisher, Aoife Kenny, Josh Latunji, James Lim, Ernest Stroud and Grace Eleanor Thomas. The swings will be Dylan Gordon-Jones, Lucas Lluna, Lucy Rice and Rachel Seirian.
Featuring a book by the original film’s writer and director Amy Heckerling, music by multi-platinum singer/songwriter KT Tunstall and lyrics by Grammy Award-winner and Tony Award-nominee Glenn Slater, the production will be directed by Rachel Kavanaugh with choreography by Olivier Award-winner Kelly Devine.
Performances of Clueless, The Musical will begin on 15 February at the start of an initial booking period up to 14 June.
Commenting the musical’s West End premiere run, Heckerling said: “I couldn’t be more excited about Clueless, The Musical opening next month. I am totally in love with the brilliant new talent we have been working with, and can’t wait for audiences to be thrilled with their singing, dancing, their heart and humour. What better way to kick off this year’s 30th anniversary of the Clueless movie than to share the love and laughter of Cher’s world with fans old and new.”
A contemporary re-imagining of Jane Austen’s Emma, Clueless starred Alicia Silverstone as the popular Beverly Hills High School student and amateur matchmaker Cher Horowitz with Paul Rudd making his movie debut as Josh.
The first musical version of the 1995 film which featured adapted pop songs from the 1980s and 1990s, debuted Off-Broadway in 2018. The new version with Tunstall and Slater providing the music made its UK debut with a try-out run at Bromley’s Churchill Theatre in February 2024.
