Ben Forster will be back in green this Christmas when he returns to the role of Buddy in Elf the Musical.
The actor who shot to fame when he won Andrew Lloyd Webber’s television talent search for his leading actor in the stadium tour of Jesus Christ Superstar is currently winning acclaim for his performance in the title role in the West End’s Phantom of the Opera.
Returning to the role he originated in the UK premiere at the Theatre Royal Plymouth in 2014, followed by a West End transfer in 2015, Forster will play the human who thinks he’s an elf when the show heads back to Plymouth in November.
After playing the Theatre Royal from 11 to 18 November, the show will head for The Lowry in Salford from 24 November to 14 January 2018.
Directed and choreographed by Morgan Young, the production will also feature former West End cast members Joe McGann and Jessica Martin reprising their roles as Walter and Emily Hobbs.
Based on the instant Christmas classic film which starred Will Ferrell, the feel-good family favourite follows the fortunes of Buddy who heads for New York from Santa’s Workshop at the North Pole in search of his real dad.
Further casting and creatives will be announced at a later date.
