Initial casting has been announced for the first full production of new British musical FIVER which will receive its world premiere at the Southwark Playhouse this summer.
Originally seen in workshop form in 2017 as part of a series of new musicals produced in association with Live At Zédel specifically for the Crazy Coqs, FIVER takes the form of a series of musical vignettes following a five pound note on its journey across London.
Written by singer/songwriter Alex James Ellison and musical director Tom Lees, FIVER will play the Southwark Playhouse from 2 to 20 July 2019 with a press night on 5 July.
Commenting on the development of their new musical, creators Ellison and Lees said: “Since Crazy Coqs we have expanded the show, both in terms of length and complexity. FIVER now runs 40 minutes longer and we are massively excited to see the changes we have made come to life on stage.”
With set design by Justin Williams and Lees serving as musical director, the cast of the new production will include one of the cast members of the workshop production,Daniel Buckley (Eugenius!). Buckley will appear alongside Hiba Elchikhe (Disney’s Aladdin) and Kayleigh McKnight (Tina –The Tina Turner Musical).
Further cast and creative details will be announced at a later date.
