The Barn Theatre has released the first recording of a new song by Matthew Harvey to coincide with the announcement of the appointment of the composer, lyricist and performer as associate artist.
Featuring Harvey (Jesus Christ Superstar, Violet) along with fellow West End stars Eloise Davies (Be More Chill, Grease), Tyrone Huntley (Jesus Christ Superstar, Dreamgirls), Alexia Khadime (Prince of Egypt, Wicked), Emma Kingston (Evita, In The Heights), Nicholas McLean (Avenue Q, Wicked) and Courtney Stapleton (Dear Evan Hansen, Six), the music video of ‘Only A Moment’ was filmed following strict Covid-guidelines at Fiction Studio.
The video also features vocalists Emanuel Alba, Katie Shearman, Charlie Johnson and Darren Tough with Jessie Linden on drums, Laurent Judson on guitar and David Kadumukasa on cello. Mixing and additional orchestrations for the recording are by Sean Green.
As associate artist at the popular Cirencester venue, Harvey will work on projects for both physical and digital theatre beginning with the new song cycle Now or Never. Further details of the project will be revealed at a later date.
