Follies concert will feature Christine Baranski and Ruthie Henshall

Ruthie-Henshall will be one of many high profile performers to perform in the Follies concert at the Royal Albert Hall

SilverBlue Entertainment, in association with Elliot Davis are presenting Follies in Concert, with The City of London Philharmonic Orchestra, at the Royal Albert Hall in celebration of composer and lyricist Stephen Sondheim’s 85th birthday year. The show will be playing on Tuesday 28 April for one matinee (at 3pm) and one evening performance (at 7.30pm) only.

The all-star cast includes Christine Baranski (Into the Woods, The Good Wife, Mamma Mia!)Anita Dobson (EastEnders, Chicago), Anita Harris (Carry On Doctor and Follow That Camel, Cats), Ruthie Henshall (original Roxy in Chicago, Les Misérables), Roy Hudd (Fagan in Oliver!, Coronation Street, Good Old Days) and Russell Watson (the UK’s best selling classical artist ever).*

Further star casting for the roles of Buddy Plummer, Benjamin Stone, Hattie Walker and Carlotta Campion will be announced shortly.

With music and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim and book by James Goldman, Follies in Concert will be directed by Strictly Come Dancing’s Craig Revel Horwood, with choreography by Andrew Wright.

The original Broadway production, which opened in 1971, was nominated for 11 Tony Awards and won seven. Follies features several songs that have become hits in their own right including ‘Broadway Baby’, ‘I’m Still Here’ and ‘Losing My Mind’.
