Acting For Others has announced this year’s West End Bake Off has been scheduled for the day of Prince Harry’s marriage to Meghan Markle, Saturday 19 May.
The fourth edition of the annual fundraiser that combines freshly baked cakes and sweet treats with West End theatre stars will once again take place at The Actors’ Church, St Pauls.
Following on from last year’s event which culminated in judges Arlene Phillips and Janie Dee crowning the team from 42nd Street as champions, this year’s star-studded fundraiser will once again raise money for Acting For Others, the umbrella organisation that represents 15 UK theatrical charities.
Last year’s West End Bake Off raised more than £6,000 for the charitable group which offers emotional and financial support to members of the entertainment industry who have fallen on hard times.
The event is free to members of the public to attend with a suggested donation of £1. Judging begins at 10.30am with the winners announced at 11am. After announcing the winners, the Bake Off will be declared open for the public to buy cakes and signed posters and mingle with cast and crew from the participating shows.
