George Rae and Valerie Cutko reunite for The New York – London Rendezvous at the Canal Café Theatre
Grand Hotel stars George Rae and Valerie Cutko are reuniting for the premiere of the cabaret The New York – London Rendezvous at the Canal Café Theatre next month.
The stars who appeared in last year’s well-received Southwark Playhouse production of the Tony Award-winning musical will play two transatlantic friends who meet up once a year in either New York or London.
Set during the pair’s summer 2016 London meeting, the show which will run from 29 May until 5 June at the Little Venice venue, the show is described as a cabaret evening celebrating love and friendship.
Rae, who was nominated for Best Male Performance in the Off West End Awards for his role in Grand Hotel, has played Timon in Disney’s The Lion King and Ko-Ko in the UK tour of The Mikado.
Cutko played Raffaela in Grand Hotel, a role she had previously played in the original Broadway revival of the musical. She also appeared in the role of Fraulein Kost in Rufus Norris’ West End production of Cabaret.
The New York-London Rendezvous will be directed by Jake Murray, musical direction is by Matheson Bayley and the show is produced by Music to Your Ear Productions.
