Subway, the new musical short from the award-winning creator of the musical Pieces of String, Gus Gowland, is now streaming across all major music platforms.
Starring award-winning actors Nicholas McLean (Best Supporting Actor at The Black British Theatre Awards 2020 for Wicked) and Jack Reitman (Best Actor at 2020 Off-West End Award for Thrill Me), the love story is set on a subway train in New York at 3am.
Presented by MPTheatricals and supported by Rural Arts, Subway A Musical Short by Gus Gowland is directed by Matt Powell with musical direction and arrangements by George Strickland.
Commenting on his latest work, Stage Debut Award-winner Gowland said: “After all this year has thrown at us, I wanted to make something heart-warming and hopeful. Subway is my love letter to musical theatre. This queer mini meet-cute musical is an homage to the New York and Broadway that made me fall in love with musicals.”
Director and producer Powell added: “We had so much fun making this beautiful love story come to life in Lockdown 2.0. Our MD described it as a Pixar Short of Musical Theatre which I think is a really fitting description. It’s so lovely to revisit this heartwarming story during Pride Month.”
First available to download in late December 2020, Subway A Musical Short by Gus Gowland is now streaming on Spotify, Apple Music and all major streaming platforms. For further information visit: www.songwhip.com/gusgowland/subway.
