Jenna Innes and Jacob Fowler join the UK and Ireland touring cast for Heathers The Musical
Jenna Innes (Les Misérables, Some Lovers) will play Veronica Sawyer opposite Jacob Fowler (Rodgers and Hammerstein’s Cinderella, In Pieces) who will return to the role of bad boy J.D. Dean for the highly anticipated Heathers The Musical UK and Ireland tour.
The tour class of 2023 will also include Verity Thompson (Cinderella) as Heather Chandler, Elise Zavou (Fantastically Great Women Who Changed the World) as Heather Duke, Billie Bowman (Heathers, The Other Palace) as Heather McNamara, Kingsley Morton (The Addams Family) as Martha Dunnstock, Alex Woodward (Mamma Mia!) as Kurt Kelly, Morgan Jackson (Mamma Mia!) as Ram Sweeney, Katie Paine (We Will Rock You) as Ms. Fleming, Jay Bryce (Motown: The Musical) as Kurt’s Dad/Big-Bud Dean/Principal, Conor McFarlane (Once) as Ram’s Dad/Veronica’s Dad/Coach Ripper with Tom Dickerson (The Book of Mormon) as Beleaguered Geek, Lizzie Emery (Rent) as Midwestern Surfer Punk, Eliza Bowden (professional debut) as New Wave Party Girl, Eleanor Walsh (The Rocky Horror Show) as Drama Club Drama Queen, Summer Priest (Get Up Stand Up) as Young Republicanette, Maeve Byrne (Grease) as Stoner Chick, Liam Dean (Gypsy) as Hipster Dork and Markus Sodergren (Roles We’ll Never Play) as Preppy Stud.
Following two record-breaking seasons in London at The Other Palace along with a West End transfer run at the Theatre Royal Haymarket, Westerberg’s finest will enrol at venues across the UK and in Ireland following a launch season at the Theatre Royal, Windsor from 14-25 February.
Presented by Bill Kenwright and Paul Taylor-Mills, the touring production of the fan-favourite black comedy rock musical will visit Peterborough, Woking, Brighton, Bath, Mold, Plymouth, Stoke-On-Trent, Eastbourne, Dublin, York, Birmingham, Dartford, Aylesbury, Cheltenham, Norwich, Sunderland, Glasgow, Liverpool, Bradford, Malvern, Crawley, Manchester, Leicester, Cardiff, Nottingham, Blackpool, Coventry, Hull, Darlington, Wellingborough and Guildford.
A record-breaker at The Other Palace within days of tickets first going on sale, Heathers The Musical was the first show from The Other Palace to move from a studio workshop to a main house production before becoming the first production from the venue to celebrate a West End transfer in 2018. The production continued its record-breaking ways at the Theatre Royal Haymarket in 2018 and went on to win the WhatsOnStage award for Best New Musical 2019.
A re-working of the cult classic Eighties film Heathers which starred Winona Ryder and Christian Slater, Heathers The Musical features music, lyrics and book by Laurence O’Keefe and Kevin Murphy.
The musical arrived in the UK following successful runs in the US in Los Angeles, New York and San Francisco, and in Sydney Australia. Featuring new material exclusively written for the London production by Murphy and O’Keefe, the production is directed by the show’s original Off-Broadway director Andy Fickman, choreography is by Gary Lloyd, with designs by David Shields, lighting design by Ben Cracknell and sound by Dan Samson.
