Rock superstar Brian May and West End favourite Kerry Ellis have revived their successful partnership to release a Christmas single celebrating the inspirational stories and people of the Covid-crisis.
Released as a digital download on 27 November, ‘One Beautiful Christmas Day’ features the distinctive vocals of Ellis accompanied by May on guitar.
Unveiling the single which was written by Ellis and her writing team including the Queen guitarist before lockdown, Ellis said: “Working with the team creating this song has been amazing, it’s about appreciating each other and thinking of others at Christmas and having a beautiful day together and creating memories of a lifetime… I’m thrilled to release this single which is from the heart and means so very much to me.”
May added: “The time is right for a new Christmas classic – and this is it!! One Beautiful Christmas wish for togetherness at the end of a tough year.”
Produced by John King and co-produced by May, the single is being released on 2020 Hope Recordings label. The accompanying video has been produced by Ben Bull.
May and Ellis, the musical theatre leading lady who created the role of Meat in the Queen musical We Will Rock, have previously brought a touch of festive magic to the country with their popular Candlelit Christmas Concert tours.
