Kerry Ellis leads Friday night Cabaret All Stars shows

West End and Broadway leading lady Kerry Ellis will join Proud Embankment’s popular Cabaret All Stars for a Circus-Cabaret show every Friday in October and November.

Appearing alongside acts from the world-famous Cirque du Soleil, the star of Wicked in the West End and Broadway, whose extensive credits include originating the role of Meat in We Will Rock You, began taking centre-stage for Friday night shows on 2 October. Fellow West End star Denise Van Outen will continue to take charge of the Saturday night shows.

Announcing his latest star attraction, the London venue’s owner Alex Proud said: “In such dark times it has been an honour and privilege to put on a West End show so early. In that spirit, it is even more exciting to announce that alongside Denise Van Outen’s Saturday shows, West End queen and superstar Kerry Ellis will now head up Cabaret All Stars.

“To have such theatre royalty grace our stage is phenomenal and a treat for everyone who misses the lights and magic of the theatre world. It is back, it is here and Kerry and the shows sound and look better than ever. Grab a ticket while you still can.”

Announcing her involvement in the shows, Ellis said: “I’m so excited to be joining the show at Proud Embankment! Getting back LIVE on stage in London with some incredibly talented people is long overdue. I can’t wait!”

Each Friday Ellis will take to the stage to perform and will also introduce circus acts including aerialist and acrobat Katherine Would from Cirque du Soleil’s Las Vegas show Beatles LOVE; Australia’s Got Talent’s mouth balancing and aerial hair hanging act Zoe Marshall; and aerial performer, fire breather and contortionist Katrina Louise. The show will also feature award-winning international cabaret star Pi the Mime, Moulin Rouge cabaret and couture act J’adore La Vie and Brazilian burlesque performer Marie Devilreux.

Commenting on his continued efforts to bring live entertainment back to life in London following the Covid-closedown, Proud said: “London is still the greatest city for entertainment in the world. It has been our pleasure to welcome audiences back to the biggest and best cabaret experience on Earth. We want our customers to know that they are our priority. They can trust us to get this right, and to look after their health and safety as we have been looking after audiences for years. Welcome back to the West End!

“At Proud we take our customer’s safety as seriously as we take our entertainment. And we take our entertainment very seriously indeed. We are the best in the world at what we do. Trust us to get this right.”

In order to safely welcome back audiences, Proud Embankment has undergone a complete makeover to ensure maximum social distancing. With a modern, glass surround on the upper level at Embankment customers can enjoy clear sightlines while remaining apart from other groups.
