The stars of the smash hit West End production of the multi Olivier-nominated Kinky Boots will follow their Broadway predecessors by releasing a cast album.
Available for pre-order next Friday (11 March) ahead of its 1 April release, the Sony Masterworks release was recorded live with the current West End cast at London’s Adelphi Theatre.
An instant favourite with theatregoers, the exuberant show has already won the London Evening Standard BBC Radio 2 Audience Award for Best Musical and the WhatsOnStage Award for Best New Musical.
Kinky Boots’ seven Olivier Award nominations include Best Costume Design, Autograph Sound Award for Outstanding Achievement in Music, Best Theatre Choreographer, MasterCard Best New Musical, Best Actress in a Supporting Role in a Musical (Amy Lennox) and two nominations for Best Actor in a Musical for both Killian Donnelly and Matt Henry.
With a book by Broadway legend and four-time Tony Award-winner Harvey Fierstein, and songs by Grammy and Tony Award-winning pop icon Cyndi Lauper, the production is directed and choreographed by Jerry Mitchell.
The West End cast is headed by Donnelly and Henry alongside the production’s third Olivier acting nominee Lennox. The cast also includes Jamie Baughan, Amy Ross, Michael Hobbs, Gemma Atkins, Paul Ayres, Jeremy Batt, Arun Blair-Mangat, Marcus Collins, Emma Crossley, Jordan Fox, Callum Francis, Robert Grose, Gillian Hardie, Chloe Hart, Sophie Isaacs, Luke Jackson, Robert Jones, Adam Lake, Catherine Millsom, Sean Needham, Tim Prottey-Jones, Verity Quade, Javier Santos, Dominic Tribuzio, Alan Vicary, Michael Vinsen and Bleu Woodward.
