RuPaul Drag Race UK favourite and recent Strictly contestant La Voix will play the monstrous Miss Hannigan alongside returning star Alex Bourne (The Wizard of Oz, Gillian Lynne Theatre/UK tour, Hairspray, UK tour) as Oliver Warbucks when Michael Harrison and David Ian’s hit production of Annie embarks on a new UK and Ireland tour next year.

As previously announced, the tour will open at the New Wimbledon Theatre on 23 May 2026 before visiting Birmingham, Manchester, Plymouth, Canterbury, Cardiff, Milton Keynes, Blackpool, Newcastle, Dublin, Bristol, Nottingham, Hull, Edinburgh, Liverpool, Truro, Cheltenham, Stoke-On-Trent, Crawley, Belfast, Aberdeen, Woking, Bradford and Oxford in 2026.

LaVoix will play the role in Wimbledon, Birmingham, Manchester, Plymouth and Canterbury. Casting for the role of Miss Hannigan from Cardiff onwards and the full company for the tour will be announced soon.

Following the final Christmas season performances in Oxford, the 2027 leg of the tour will begin with visits to Sunderland, Southampton, Norwich, Wolverhampton, Sheffield and Glasgow.

Directed by Nikolai Foster with set and costume design by Colin Richmond, choreography by Nick Winston, lighting by Ben Cracknell and sound design by Richard Brooker, the popular version of the Broadway smash previously toured the UK and Ireland in 2015/2016, 2019 and 2023.

With a book by Thomas Meehan and a score by Charles Strouse and Martin Charnin, and set in New York during the Great Depression, the story of brave young orphan Annie debuted on Broadway in 1977. The original Broadway production ran for a record breaking six years, and collected seven Tony awards including Best Musical, Best Book and Best Score.
