Cabaret favourite Le Gateau Chocolat has joined forces with London’s King’s Head Theatre for a new opera-inspired show.
Written and directed by Le Gateau Chocolat and co-written and narrated by Tommy Bradson, Liminal aims to bridge the gap between the opera star on stage and off.
Running until 23 October 2021, each night features a specially curated operatic song cycle which will offer a personal look at opera and the people who perform it.
Presented by King’s Head Theatre and Le Gateau Chocolat, Liminal will be performed by tenor Robert Barbaro, lyric soprano Grace Nyandoro, soprano Honey Rouhani and award-winning Royal Academy Opera student Dan D’Souza.
The creative team for the production also includes lighting designer and production manager Conor Lovejoy, set designer Isabella Van Braeckel, musical director Debbi Lindley, movement consultant Ingrid Mackinnon, assistant director Amber Sinclair-Case and stage manager Chloe Wilson.
Le Gateau Chocolat’s previous shows include In Drag, BLACK and hit children’s show Duckie. His recent production, ICONS has toured the world, with the up-scaled version featuring accompaniment from the Little Coco Orchestra, a Le Gateau Chocolat initiative to support diverse musicians. The star’s acting credits include Emma Rice’s adaptation of Percy and Eleonore Adlon’s Bagdad Café at The Old Vic.
