The full cast has been confirmed for this summer’s first UK and Ireland tour for the hit West End and Broadway comedy Mrs Doubtfire.
As previously announced Gabriel Vic (the original West End production of Avenue Q and the UK tour of Little Miss Sunshine) will re-create his performance as Daniel Hillard – the divorced dad who goes to comically extreme lengths to stay close to his kids by taking on the persona of the redoubtable Scottish nanny in the touring production.
He will be joined by Kara Lily Hayworth as Miranda Hillard, Aaliya Mai as Lydia Hillard, Ryan Pidgen as Frank Hillard, Jairus McClanahan as Andre Mayem, James Darch as Stuart Dunmire, Samuelle Durojaiye as Wanda Sellner, Carl Patrick as Mr Jolly/Judge, Kiera Haynes as Janet Lundy and Rhianne Alleyne as Flamenco Singer with Adam Colbeck-Dunn as the alternate Daniel Hillard for certain performances.
Mrs Doubtfire will also introduce Charlie Banks, Alexander Beaumont, Joshua Miles and Dexter Pulling who will alternate the role of Christopher Hillard and Santi Cohen, Harly Gill, Mila Isaacs and Hattie Leddington Wright who will alternate the role of Natalie Hillard. The cast is completed by Zac Adlam, Rhona Butler, Joshua Clayton, Emma Dempsey, Abigail Eustis, Amy Louise Everett, Austin Garrett, Cruz-Troy Hunter, Nicholas Leon Jones, D’Mia Lindsay-Walker, Jordan Livesey, Michael Nelson, Lucy May Pollard, Paulo Teixeira and Natalie Thorn.
Produced by Kevin McCollum and Jamie Wilson and presented by special arrangement with Buena Vista Theatrical, the touring production will play an opening run at the Birmingham Hippodrome from 13 August to 19 September, followed by dates in Newcastle, Plymouth, Leeds, Dublin, Glasgow, Southampton, Liverpool, Cardiff, Nottingham, Sheffield, Milton Keynes, Aberdeen and Canterbury. More cities will be announced at a later date.
The production arrived in the West End in May 2023 following a successful limited season debut at the Manchester Opera House in September 2022. The musical took its final bow at London’s Shaftesbury Theatre in April 2025.
Directed by four-time Tony Award winner Jerry Zaks (Hello, Dolly!), the musical version of the classic Robin Williams comedy features a book by Karey Kirkpatrick and John O’Farrell with original music and lyrics by Wayne Kirkpatrick and Karey Kilpatrick.
The high-powered creative team behind the production also includes choreographer Lorin Latarro (Waitress) with music supervision, arrangements and orchestrations by Ethan Popp (Tina: The Tina Turner Musical), scenic design by David Korins (Hamilton), costume design by Catherine Zuber (Moulin Rouge! The Musical), lighting design by Philip S Rosenberg (Pretty Woman The Musical), sound design by Brian Ronan (Beautiful: The Carole King Musical), hair design by David Brian Brown (Frozen), make-up and prosthetics design by Tommy Kurzman (The King and I), casting by Stuart Burt (Cabaret) and children’s casting by Verity Naughton.
Based on the hit 1993 film comedy, the musical received its world premiere in Seattle in 2019 and began previews on Broadway in early March 2020 just before the Covid closedown. The musical resumed previews in October 2021 ahead of its official opening night in December 2021. Covid also forced another closure from January to April 2022, with the production taking its final bow on Broadway on 29 May 2022.
