New production company Lambert Jackson to pay tribute to musical theatre’s leading ladies in There’s Nothin’ Like a Dame

New musical theatre production company Lambert Jackson will launch with a one-night celebration of the genre’s female characters at London’s Cadogan Hall this summer.

Featuring a quartet of popular West End leading ladies, There’s Nothin’ Like a Dame on 30 August 2018 will celebrate 100 years of female characters in musical theatre.

Taking to the stage for one night to perform some of the genre’s most famous female-centric songs, will be: Louise Dearman (Grease, Victoria Palace/UK tour, Guys and Dolls, Piccadilly Theatre/UK tour); Ria Jones (Sunset Boulevard, UK tour, Chess, Prince Edward Theatre); Alexia Khadime (The Book of Mormon, Prince of Wales Theatre, The Lion King, Lyceum Theatre); and Rachel Tucker (Wicked, West End/Broadway, We Will Rock You, Dominion Theatre).

The show will feature a mix of classics from the timeless shows of Rodgers and Hammerstein to more recent works by Andrew Lloyd Webber and Stephen Schwartz.

Dedicated to producing musical theatre-themed shows, Lambert Jackson has been founded by CEO Jamie Lambert, who first attracted attention as part of Britain’s Got Talent 2014 winners Collabro and creative director Eliza Jackson, who is also taking her one-woman show Voice Behind the Stars to the Edinburgh Festival Fringe.

Commenting on the company first show, Lambert said: “We feel like this is the year of the woman and so it seems the perfect moment for There’s Nothin’ Like a Dame which will be a glorious celebration of women in musicals over the past 100 years. This is our debut production and we can’t wait to show fans of musical theatre what more we have planned. Coming from a performance background, we are determined to be a company who are fair, who look after their performers and who put on fantastic, creative and beautiful shows.”
