The producers of 16 of the biggest musicals in the West End have given their blessing to a new T-shirt aimed at raising funds for those in the industry hardest hit by the current crisis.
Featuring a design that uses the distinctive branding of some of the world’s most famous shows, the T-shirts are the first fundraising project from The Theatre Support Fund.
The brainchild of friends Chris Marcus and Damien Staunton, the T-shirts retail at £14 with 100% of the profits to be split between theatre charities Acting for Others and the Fleabag Support Fund and the NHS Covid-19 Urgent Appeal.
Marcus who jointly runs leading props company MarcusHall Props and Staunton who works as an assistant stage manager and on graphics and design at MarcusHall props have enlisted the help of friends within the London theatrical community who have all offered their services free of charge.
The T-shirts which feature the slogan ‘THE SHOW MUST GO ON’ are available from the newly launched website www.theatresupportfund.co.uk. All items are being produced in the UK, using sustainable printing methods and non-toxic, vegan inks and dyes.
The show’s featured on the shirts are: & Juliet, The Book of Mormon, Come From Away, Dear Evan Hansen, Everyone’s Talking about Jamie, Hamilton, Les Misérables, The Lion King, Mamma Mia!, Mary Poppins, Matilda the Musical, The Phantom of the Opera, The Prince of Egypt, Six the Musical, Tina The Musical and Wicked.
