West End stars Bradley Jaden, Lucie Jones and Cedric Neal feature on three new acoustically performed tracks from the Gunpowder Plot-inspired musical drama Treason.
The trio who previously appeared in the digital concert premiere of the show which was performed and filmed live at London’s Cadogan Hall in March feature on the studio recordings of ‘The Inevitable’, ‘Blind Faith’ and ’All We Dreamed & More’.d
Following on from the online concert which was viewed by fans across the world, the previously unheard tracks offer an extra taste of the musical ahead of a workshop later this year and a full-scale production in 2022.
A fusion of original folk and pop songs, Treason features a score and lyrics by Ricky Allan and a book by Kieran Lynn and Allan. The concert production was directed by Hannah Chissick with musical supervision by Nick Pinchbeck and orchestration by Matthew Malone.
Treason The Musical In Concert starred Jaden (Les Misérables, Wicked), Jones (Legally Blonde, Waitress), and Neal (Chess, Memphis), alongside Oliver Tompsett (& Juliet, Kinky Boots), Daniel Boys (Falsettos, Nativity Rocks!), Waylon Jacobs (Hamilton, Memphis), Emmanuel Kojo (Show Boat, Oklahoma!), Rebecca LaChance (School of Rock, Beautiful) and Sharon Rose (Hamilton, Caroline Or Change) with poet, writer and performer Debris Stevenson (Poet in da Corner) as narrator.
The first five tracks from the original cast recording of the musical were released on Spotify, Apple Music and Amazon Music. The recordings feature West End stars Kelly Agbowu, Daniel Boys, Rosalie Craig, Hadley Fraser, Waylon Jacobs, Emmanuel Kojo, Rebecca LaChance, Christine Modestou and Oliver Savile.
