Oliver Thompsett will step into the role of Charlie Price and Natalie McQueen will take over as Lauren in the West End production of the multi award-winning musical Kinky Boots from 4 June 2018.
Thompsett, whose previous roles include Sky Masterson in Guys and Dolls and Galileo in We Will Rock You, and McQueen, who starred as The Mad Hatter in Wonderland, will join Simon-Anthony Rhoden who has proved a hit with audiences since stepping into the role of Lola after acting as the understudy for the show’s original Lola, Matt Henry
Sean Needham will play Don, Cordelia Farnworth will continue as Nicola and Antony Reed will play George. Current cast members also staying with the show include: Jed Berry, Momar Diagne, Jemal Felix, Jordan Fox, Rossie Glossop, Robert Grose, Keith Higham, Ben Jennings, Robert Jones, Suzie McAdam, Emma Odell, Jon Reynolds and Tom Scanlon.
Other new cast members from Monday 4 June will be Abbey Addams, Jak Allen-Anderson, Louis Clarke-Clare, Daniel Downing, David Haydn, Graham Kent, Christopher Parkinson, Hannah Price, Anna Stolli and Olivia Winterflood.
The show’s current Charlie and Lauren, David Hunter and Verity Rushworth will play their final performances on Saturday 2 June.
After celebrating welcoming over one million customers and playing its 1,000th performance in the West End in January, the producers have just announced another new booking period taking the show up to Saturday 5 January 2019
An instant favourite with theatregoers, the exuberant show’s impressive awards haul includes three Oliviers, the London Evening Standard BBC Radio 2 Audience Award for Best Musical and the WhatsOnStage Award for Best New Musical.
With a book by Broadway legend and four-time Tony Award winner Harvey Fierstein (La Cage Aux Folles), and songs by Grammy and Tony-winning pop icon Cyndi Lauper, the production is directed and choreographed by Jerry Mitchell.
