Panto Dame calendar created by Tim McArthur

With the majority of Christmas pantomimes cancelled even before the latest lockdown news, actor and presenter Tim McArthur has come up with a way to celebrate one of the festive season’s best-loved characters, the Panto Dame.

Facing up to the news that for the first time in ten years he would not be donning the trappings of panto damehood for the annual pantomime at the White Rock Theatre in Hastings, McArthur came up with the idea of creating a 2021 calendar with a difference.

Featuring shots of McArthur in full pantomime dame-garb, the calendar will offer a full colour reminder of what most panto-lovers will be missing this festive season.

With a percentage of all sales going to McArthur’s favourite charity, the London based The Toy Project, The Dame 2021 Calendar costs £10 plus £1.50 postage. Anyone interested in placing an order should email TheDame2021@gmail.com.

McArthur who had been working with The Toy Project’s Jane Garfield by featuring in Panto Dame storytelling sessions in her shop, special needs schools and children’s wards, also thanked Jo Wickham for providing the Dame-costumes used in the project (donated following her Uncle Dave’s death) and the calendar’s designer Emily Walls.
