Actor, dancer and choreographer Peter Groom’s hit theatrical cabaret tribute to Hollywood legend Marlene Dietrich is heading back to London this November with a transfer run at Wilton’s Music Hall.
Created and performed by Groom, Dietrich – Natural Duty will follow its sold-out run at the Vault Festival 2018 in January, arriving back in the capital from 19 to 24 November following a season at Pleasance Beside in Edinburgh in August.
Co-written by Oliver Gully, the one-(wo)man show reveals details of the iconic star’s extraordinary commitment to the American war effort and the fight to free her German homeland from Hitler.
Featuring the songs that are most associated in with Dietrich including ‘Falling in Love Again’, ‘Lola’ and ‘Where Have All the Flowers Gone’, the show is directed by co-writer Gully.
Revealing details of the project earlier in the year Groom said: “I’m keen to dissect the use of drag in theatre and explore a way in which drag becomes not just a novelty but an important device/tool in order to help tell a story.
