Pedro Almodovar joins Women On the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown cast members Tamsin Greig, Haydn Gwynne and Anna Skellern
To celebrate the UK premiere of David Yazbek and Jeffrey Lane’s new musical comedy adaptation of Pedro Almodovar’s Oscar-nominated film Women On the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown – now playing live on stage in London’s West End – Pedro Almodovar will be taking part in a post-show conversation with director Bartlett Sher and star of the original film Rossy de Palma on Saturday 10 January. Esteemed film critic Maria Delgado will chair the panel.
This unique event will be broadcast across the country live via satellite in partnership with Picturehouse Cinemas, alongside a screening of the original 1988 film. There will be an opportunity for the public to ask Almodovar and the panel a question by tweeting @womenvergeuk and @picturehouses.

Pedro Almodovar, in London to work on the stage show, said: “Twenty-six years after attending the 1989 Oscar ceremony and returning empty-handed, it’s wonderful to see that these Women – the Madrid ladies – are still alive and kicking. We will celebrate them in London alongside the shortlist inclusion for Wild Tales as a possible nominee for Best Foreign Film in the next round of Oscars. I hope to see it amongst the five finalists on the 15 January, but if not, it’s fine. There is life beyond the Oscars, as Women On the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown – The Musical proves.”
