Recently, Musical Theatre Review was the online media partner for Sunday At the Musicals, two charity concerts which showcased a host of female singers in London’s West End. Musical Theatre Review’s official photographer Roy Tan went along and here is his Sunday At the Musicals gallery.
Produced by Paul Burton and Paul Burton Productions and directed by Roy Gould, Sunday At the Musicals – Christmas Special at the Phoenix Artist Club raised funds for the Royal Variety Charity (formerly the Entertainment Artistes’ Benevolent Fund).
The concerts were hosted by stage and television favourite Rosemarie Ford (Cats, Me and My Girl) and featured a glittering line-up of female singers (accompanied by pianist Matt Pallant) performing songs from past and current musicals.
Vocalists included Katie Birtill (The Last Five Years, Dreamboats and Petticoats); Abigail Borrow (Mary Poppins, The Pajama Game); Stephanie Clift (Little Shop of Horrors, Mamma Mia!); Maria Coyne (The Phantom of the Opera, Wicked); Samantha Dorsey (Les Misérables, Cinderella); Rebecca Eastham (Summer At the Musicals, Spring Awakening); Linda Fitzgerald (Kevin Spacey Gala Celebration, West End Women); Pippa Gearing (The Rockabellas, Rock Choirs); Katy Kelly (lead vocalist, P&O Cruises); Sarah Lindsey (The Rockabellas, Over the Rainbow); Inez MacKenzie (Spamalot, Miracle On 34th Street); Paige Mackenzie (Babes in Arms, Sunshine on Leith); Amanda-Jane Manning (Annie, The Rocky Horror Show); Hannah Robertson (The Mousetrap, Mamma Mia!); Caroline Rodgers (James and the Giant Peach, Songs of Sister Act); Amy Ross (Kinky Boots, Sunny Afternoon); Bethany Taylor-James (Little Shop of Horrors, Carousel); Carly Thoms (The Rise and Fall of Little Voice, Thoroughly Modern Millie); and Pippa Winslow (The Sound of Music, Sister Act).
