Presented by The Jamie Lloyd Company, the successful partnership between the Ambassador Theatre Group and artistic director Jamie Lloyd, alongside the newly formed Lloyd Webber Harrison Musicals, a joint venture by Andrew Lloyd Webber and Michael Harrison, the bold new version of the award-winning musical is due to play the Savoy Theatre from 21 September 2023 until 6 January 2024.

Announcing the production which will open 30 years after the show’s West End debut, Lloyd, who will also direct, said: “After our reappraisal of Evita at the Open Air Theatre, Regent’s Park, I’m very excited to rediscover another iconic Lloyd Webber musical — and Sunset Boulevard is one of his most thrilling, complex and atmospheric scores. We are so fortunate to have the opportunity to create a new production of this fascinating piece with the extraordinary Nicole Scherzinger.”

Based on the classic Paramount film by Billy Wilder, and featuring music by Andrew Lloyd Webber with a book and lyrics by Don Black and Christopher Hampton, Sunset Boulevard opened in the West End in 1993 with Patti LuPone as Norma Desmond. The award-winning star of the first Broadway production, Glenn Close, also played Norma Desmond in the second West End revival and in the first Broadway revival.
