The Thriller Live cast celebrates 3000 performances in the West End
The cast of the Michael Jackson inspired Thriller Live celebrated yet another milestone moment this week with an American-themed party to mark the show’s 3000th performance in London’s West End.
Members of the current cast partied the night away at Planet Hollywood and tucked in to a custom-made giant three tier cake topped with a figure of Michael Jackson.
Now in its eighth year at the Lyric Theatre, the inventive show celebrated hitting the $150 million mark at the international box office last year. A few months later it was celebrating again when it took over from Evita to become the 17th longest running West End musical of all time.
The longest-running production in the Lyric’s 125-year history, the newest version of the show with new elements including songs, costumes and special effects, was launched at the venue last October. A ten-month UK and European tour of the new version was also launched at Blackpool’s Grand Theatre last year.
Thriller Live which is choreographed and directed by award-winning Gary Lloyd, was originally conceived and created by Adrian Grant, an associate of Michael Jackson and the author of Michael Jackson – The Visual Documentary. It is produced by Paul Walden and Derek Nicol for Flying Music in association with Adrian Grant for Key Concerts.
The current West End cast includes: Jordan Alexander, Alex Buchanan, Trenyce Cobbins, Dajiow, Haydon Eshun, Ryan Shaw, Britt Quentin, Brittany Woodrow, Cordell Mostellar, Aisling Duffy, Leslie Bowman, Joshua Ivey, Florivaldo Mossi, Steven Thompson, Ebony Clarke, Leah Hill, Alex Jackson, Rebecca Jones, Victoria Lamm, Arnold Mabhena, Helen Parsons, Thomas Remaili, Chantè Simpson, Aled Arhyel Charles, Joshua Cameron, Remi Goodin, Daniel Odejinmi, and Zuriel Kabasomi-Williams.
The band is led by musical supervisor John Maher (keyboard and guitar) and assistant MD Ryan Alex Farmery (keyboard) along with Damien Cooper, Oliver Latka, Mike Bradley and Accy Yeats.
