Casting has been unveiled for the upcoming UK premiere of writer and composer Charli Eglington’s Saving Mozart at London’s The Other Palace.
Presented by MCG Productions, the musical inspired by the life of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s older sister Nannerl, will make its debut at The Other Palace from 28 July until 30 August.
The production will star Aimie Atkinson (Six, Pretty Woman ) as Nannerl, Jack Chambers (Stiletto, The Strange Affair of Herschel Grynspan) as Mozart, Erin Caldwell (SIX, Heathers) as Constanze, Jordan Luke Gage (Titanique, & Juliet) as Salieri, Douglas Hansell (Stiletto, Come From Away ) as Leopold and Gloria Onitiri (Hadestown, The Bodyguard) as Anna Maria. The ensemble will feature Sveva Bartolini, Harriette Benazir-White, Corey Mitchell, Anu Ogunmefun, Ebony Roy-Palmer and Alfie Simmons. Ritesh Manugula and Gleanne Purcell Brown will be Off Stage Swings and Covers and the role of Little Mozart will be played by Carla Lopez Corpas and Izzie Monk.
Director Markus Olzinger will lead a creative team that includes choreographer Taylor Walker, costume designer Julia Pschedezki, set designer Justin Williams, sound designer Tom Marshall, lighting designer Ben Jacobs and casting director Ben Armstrong Casting.
The critically acclaimed musical received its world premiere earlier this year in Gmunden in Austria – close to Mozart’s birthplace – in association with Musical Frühling in Gmunden.
