With the successful West End run of Waitress cut short by the Covid-closedown, stars Lucie Jones and David Hunter are re-uniting for a special online concert next month.
Presented by Lambert Jackson Productions, the two-hour concert will be streamed live from London’s Phoenix Arts Club 23 August 2020 from 5pm until 7pm BST.
Lucie Jones and David Hunter Live At The Phoenix Arts Club will feature the stage couple who are great friends off-stage performing their favourite songs and chatting about life as theatre performers. Tickets are priced between £20-£35 with VIP tickets available which will include access to a Zoom after-show party with the duo.
X Factor finalist turned musical theatre favourite Lucie Jones (Rent, Legally Blonde) first stepped into the central role of Jenna in Waitress at the Adelphi Theatre last June. Kinky Boots star Hunter (Once) was the West End’s first Dr Pomatter, starring opposite the West End’s original Jenna, Katharine McPhee.
After taking a break from Waitress while Sara Bareilles and Gavin Creel re-created their Broadway performances in the West End, Jones and Hunter had been due to return to their roles on 23 March. Following the theatre shutdown, the producers of the show issued a statement announcing the probable closure of the show unless the production was able to reopen at the Adelphi before 4 July.
