West End and Broadway stars signed to new musical theatre label

West End and Broadway stars Samantha Barks, Kerry Ellis and Ramin Karimloo are among the first signings for new London-based musical theatre record label Westway Music.

Launching on 12 November with Frozen star Barks’ new studio album ‘Into The Unknown’ the new label created by artist manager and promoter Neil O’Brien, Westway Music is a new music and film platform dedicated to musical theatre from the West End through to Broadway.

Unveiling details of the label’s first releases, O’Brien said: “Having represented some of the biggest names in UK musical theatre for their live touring since forming my agency nearly 15 years ago it felt like a natural progression to look to make some music and films with them to compliment this. I am incredibly excited to be creating a new home for the music of theatre in an independent setting.”

The Barks album will be followed by the release of Lee Mead’s DVD and CD ‘In Concert Recorded at the London Palladium’ on 19 November and Karimloo’s ‘Live At Clapham Grand’ DVD on 26 November.

Spring 2022 releases will include an album of new original songs from Ellis, a collection of US West Coast classics recorded by Cassidy Janson released alongside a Spring UK tour and Joe Stilgoe’s orchestral album ‘Theatre’ performed with the Metropole Orchestra.

Staff appointments include former SonyBMG executive Rachel Agnew as label executive and platinum recording artist and former X Factor favourite Rhydian Roberts as A&R director. All releases will be distributed internationally by Ingrooves.
