Disney’s Winnie The Pooh The Musical will debut at London’s Riverside Studios in March 2023 before embarking on a UK and Ireland tour.

Presented by Rockefeller Productions in partnership with ROYO and in association with Disney Theatrical Productions, the UK premiere of the family-friendly musical will begin preview performances at the Hammersmith venue on 17 March 2023 ahead of the official opening on 26 March 2023.

Developed and presented by renowned family entertainment creator Jonathan Rockefeller (The Very Hungry Caterpillar Show and Paddington Gets In A Jam), the show which brings to life classic characters including Piglet, Eeyore, Kanga, Roo and Tigger to life alongside Winnie the Pooh and Christopher Robin, features a mix of musical performance and Rockefeller’s spectacular puppets.

After originating the role of Winnie the Pooh on Broadway, puppeteer, voice actor, writer and coach Jake Bazel will bring the much-loved character to life again on stage on this side of the Atlantic.

Commenting on the musical which broke box office records when it debuted in New York in 2021, Rockefeller said: “The music, the life-size puppets, and the charming performances are the perfect way to introduce (or re-introduce) audiences to live theatre, and this is a must-see show for Winnie the Pooh fans of all ages. I am thrilled to be entrusted to bring this celebrated character to the stage for new audiences as they join our adventure into the Hundred Acre Wood.”

Inspired by A.A. Milne’s beloved creations and the Disney animations which brought Milne’s timeless tales to life on screen, the musical features an original score by Nate Edmondson featuring some of the Grammy Award-winning songs written for Disney’s original animated films.

Much-loved songs including ‘Winnie the Pooh’, ‘The Blustery Day’, ‘The Wonderful Thing About Tiggers’ and ‘Whoop-De-Dooper Bounce’ feature alongside A.A. Milne’s ‘The More It Snows’ (featuring music by Carly Simon) and ‘Sing Ho’ in a new arrangement.

Following the London run which will end on 21 May 2023, the UK and Ireland tour will visit Southampton, Milton Keynes, Birmingham, Sheffield, Brighton, Nottingham, Richmond, Aberdeen, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Manchester, Dublin, York, Cardiff, Newcastle, Guildford, Blackpool, Canterbury, Southend, High Wycombe and Cheltenham. Further tour dates are to be announced.
