Chickenshed to stage new musical about climate change

The acclaimed London-based, Chickenshed theatre company will unveil a major new musical this month addressing the issue of climate change.

Following on from last year’s politics-inspired Blowin’ in the Wind, Don’t Stop Thinking About Tomorrow combines theatre and original music and dance to convey a powerful message about the future of the planet.

Announcing the show which will play the Southgate venue from 8 March until 31 March, Chickenshed’s artistic director Lou Stein said: “Scientists have had their go at bringing to our minds the global effects of not caring for our earth. It is now up to artists to touch our hearts and bring the issue closer home.”

Don’t Stop Thinking About Tomorrow centres on the work of a fictional installation artist of African descent who grew up in the industrial North of England in a time when factory chimneys expelled thick black smoke into the air.
