Musical theatre stars to headline London Coliseum concert series

Seven West End stars will take centre stage in a series of acoustic concerts at London’s Coliseum which will be streamed over one week in September.

Presented by West End and Broadway producers Jack Maple and Brian Zeilinger for their company Take Two Theatricals in association with Jamie Chapman Dixon and John-Webb Carter on behalf of Carter Dixon Productions, Tonight At The London Coliseum will be filmed live at the prestigious venue.

Each of the seven intimate concerts will be headlined by a different musical theatre favourite with one of the seven shows featuring a performance of new British musical After You written by Alex Parker and Katie Lam. The creative supervisor for all the concerts will be Annabel Mutale Reed.

The line-up for the Tonight At The London Coliseum will include Sharon D. Clarke (Caroline, Or Change, Chichester Festival Theatre, Hampstead Theatre and Playhouse Theatre, The Amen Corner, National Theatre); Kerry Ellis (We Will Rock You, Dominion Theatre, Wicked, Apollo Victoria); Carrie Hope Fletcher (Les Misérables, Sondheim Theatre, Heathers The Musical, The Other Palace and Theatre Royal Haymarket); Cassidy Janson (& Juliet, Shaftesbury Theatre, Beautiful: The Carole King Musical, Aldwych); and Ramin Karimloo (Dr Zhivago, Cadogan Hall, The Phantom of the Opera, Her Majesty’s Theatre).

Bat Out Of Hell – The Musical co-stars Rob Fowler and Sharon Sexton will appear together accompanied by a live band under the musical direction of Steve Corley. The duo who first met when they were cast in Jim Steinman’s hit musical will base their concert on their debut duets album ‘Vision of You’.

Presented in association with Quick Fantastic, contemporary love story After You will star Bradley Jaden (Les Misérables – The Staged Concert, Gielgud Theatre, Wicked, Apollo Victoria) and Alexia Khadime (The Prince of Egypt, Dominion Theatre, The Book of Mormon, Prince of Wales Theatre). First staged at Live at Zédel at the Crazy Coqs in 2017, the musical takes its inspiration from romantic movie classics including Brief Encounter and The Way We Were. The performance will be directed by Jordan Murphy.

Tickets costing £15 will go on sale on 14 August. A portion of each ticket sold will go to the ENO Contingency Fund, the registered charity set up by the English National Opera to bring opera to as many people as possible.

Dates and streaming information will be announced at a later date. Viewers can sign up for more information at www.taketwotheatricals.com.
