Tony and Golden Globe-winning actress and singer Linda Lavin will make her London concert debut at Crazy Coqs in September.
The Broadway legend who received the first of her six Tony Award nominations in 1970 for her performance in the Neil Simon play Last of the Red Hot Lovers, will bring her show Love Notes to the popular cabaret venue on 28 and 30 September 2022.
A stage and screen star for decades, Lavin whose musical theatre credits include starring as Mama Rose in Gypsy on Broadway in 1990 and the role of Hattie in Follies on Broadway in 2011, will perform one-of-a-kind renditions of classic songs from composers including Gershwin and Porter.
Lavin will be accompanied by a quartet of leading American jazz musicians featuring music director Billy Stritch on piano with special guest, jazz violinist Aaron Weinstein.
Best known for his work accompanying Liza Minnelli, Stritch will also bring his new show celebrating the music of his friend Cy Coleman to Crazy Coqs on 29 September.
Other highlights in Crazy Coqs programme include pianist Bobby Crush’s celebration of 50 years in showbusiness. Bobby Crush: The 5oth Anniversary Show on 18 September will feature songs from his 13 studio albums. The performances of the music of composers including Michel Legrand, Henry Mancini and Leslie Bricusse will be interspersed with exclusive behind the scenes stories of Crush’s career in entertainment.
