West End stars Landi Oshinowo (Shrek, Barnum, Sister Act) and Nicolas Colicos (Mamma Mia!, Sunset Boulevard, Sister Act, The Bodyguard) will head the cast of the show which opens for a limited season at London’s Jermyn Street Theatre on 6 July.
They will be joined by Rosanna Hyland (Urinetown, Shrek); Kristen Gaetz (White Christmas US tour, Crazy For You US tour); recent London School of Musical Theatre graduate David Gibbons; Alice Offley (Teddy, The Secret Rapture); Rich Craig (The Mystery of Edwin Drood, Waterloo) and previously announced musical director Nick Barstow.
With a book and lyrics by Gretchen Cryer and music by Nancy Ford, the show was last seen in the West End at the Apollo Theatre 35 years ago.
The revival of the Off-Broadway and West End musical will play Jermyn Street until 23 July.
Director Matthew Gould does double duty as the new production’s designer along with Edward Iliffe who, in turn, is one of the show’s producers alongside SDWC Productions. The creative team also includes Mitchell Reeve.
