Multi-award-winning West End star Janie Dee (Carousel, National Theatre, Hello Dolly!, Curve) will feature in conversation with actor, writer, director and radio presenter Tim McArthur this weekend as part of a new season of socially distanced cabaret at London’s Above The Stag Theatre.
Featuring a mix of cabaret, musical theatre, LGBT+ poetry, comedy and drag the Cabaret Lounge will bring an eclectic mix of shows to the popular venue on the Albert Embankment until 8 November.
The first Cabaret Lounge season opened with The Big Fat Musical Quiz with McArthur (who also programmed the season) and musical director Aaron Clingham on Thursday (15 October).
The line-up will also include: the latest Judy Garland-inspired offering from Lucy Penrose (Through The Mill, Southwark Playhouse), Judy and I: A Night With Lucy Penrose; Above The Stag regulars Florence Odumosu and Christian Andrews in Funny Valentines; West End star Kieran Brown (The Phantom of the Opera, Her Majesty’s Theatre) in Sinful Songs and Monstrous Musicals: A Spooky Cabaret; and former pop singer turned theatre star Duncan James (Legally Blonde, Savoy Theatre) joining McArthur for Duncan & Tim’s Big Camp Night Out and Stefan Bednarczyk’s critically-acclaimed solo show Stefan Bednarczyk Performs Noël Coward.
