The team behind the popular West End Musical Brunch events and the recent West End Musical Drive-In series has joined forces with producer Nica Burns to bring a festive version of the north London shows to the heart of the West End this Christmas.
Running from 17 until 20 December 2020, West End Musical Christmas – Live at the Palace Theatre will be a star-packed celebration of musical theatre and all things Christmas.
Produced by Chris Steward and Shanay Holmes for West End Musical Productions in association with Nica Burns, the six shows will form the grand finale of Nimax Theatres’ autumn season of socially distanced shows.
Unveiling details of the shows, Burns, the chief executive of Nimax Theatres said: “I am absolutely delighted to be welcoming Shanay Holmes and Chris Steward of West End Musical Productions as they make their West End producing debut with these joyful, fun and festive concerts at the Palace Theatre.
“I am a huge fan of their weekly West End Musical Brunch concerts in secret locations and their lock down drive-in musicals which sell out quickly. These concerts are going to be a wonderful way of celebrating Christmas in the company of a fantastic cast of West End stars so book your tickets now.”
Hosted by Shanay Holmes (The Bodyguard, Rent), the cast of West End favourites will include: Sophie Evans (Wicked, The Wizard of Oz), Alice Fearn (Wicked, Come From Away, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels), Ben Forster (The Phantom of the Opera, Jesus Christ Superstar); Rachel John (Hamilton, Rent) Jamie Muscato (Heathers, West Side Story); Trevor Dion Nicholas (Aladdin, Hamilton) and Everybody’s Talking About Jamie’s Layton Williams (Rent).
With more special guests to be announced West End Musical Christmas will be directed by Tom Jackson Greaves with choreography by Sha Barclay and music direction by Richard Beadle.
Tickets are priced from £22.50 with a percentage of profits going to umbrella charity Acting For Others.
The seasonal shows follow on from the crowd-pleasing West End Musical Drive-In series which brought West End-quality entertainment to thousands of theatre-hungry people at The Drive In, Troubadour Meridian Water in north London.
Launched in July this year and due to culminate with a Halloween special on 31 October starring Lucie Jones (Rent, Legally Blonde), the 13 shows featured over 70 performers and entertained thousands of theatre fans.
