Six’s West End reign to continue into 2023

The West End reign of hit musical Six will continue into the spring of 2023 with over 300,000 extra tickets going on sale for performances at the show’s new London home, the Vaudeville Theatre from 2 May 2022 until 2 April 2023.

Announcing the latest piece of good news in the Six success story, producers Kenny Wax, Wendy and Andy Barnes and George Stiles said: “As one of the first West End productions to resume performances during the pandemic, and relocate our show to its new forever-home, we are delighted that we have a full-year of Six performances our fans, theatre enthusiasts and new audiences can look forward to.”

The production which for the first time welcomed an entirely new cast of Queens, alternates and swings in November last year, currently stars: Amy Di Bartolomeo (Bat Out of Hell, West End debut, Priscilla, Queen of the Desert UK tour) as Catherine of Aragon; Amanda Lindgren (South Pacific, Chichester Festival Theatre, Miss Saigon, UK and international tours) as Anne Boleyn; Claudia Kariuki (Ragtime, Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre, School of Rock, West End) as Jane Seymour; Tsemaye Bob-Egbe (Tina: The Tina Turner Musical, West End, Pippin, Garden Theatre) as Katherine Howard; Dionne Ward-Anderson (Footloose UK tour) in her first West End role as Anna of Cleves; and recent Royal Academy of Music graduate Meesha Turner in her professional and West End debut as Catherine Parr.

The cast is completed by Paisley Billings (The Lion King, West End) as alternate Catherine of Aragon and Anna of Cleves; recent Trinity Laban Conservatoire graduate, Danielle Rose in her West End debut as alternate Anne Boleyn and Catherine Howard; Roxanne Couch (I Could Use A Drink, In Pieces, Turbine Theatre) as alternate Jane Seymour and Katherine Parr; Rachel Rawlinson (Heathers, West End, Priscilla, Queen of the Desert tour) as Swing; and Esme Rothero in her West End debut as Swing and Dance Captain.

Access performances, including captioned, audio described and British Sign Language interpreted performances are scheduled throughout the year, and a second sing-along performance is planned for 25 September.

Written by university friends Marlow and Moss, the musical which puts the spotlight on the wives of Henry VIII as they form a 21st century girl band started life as a student production in a 100-seat room at Sweet Venue during the 2017 Edinburgh Fringe Festival.

Presented by Kenny Wax and Global Musicals, the show which features tracks including ‘Ex Wives’, ‘Haus of Holbein’ and ‘Don’t Lose Ur Head’, is directed by co-creator Moss and Jamie Armitage.

The creative team also includes choreographer Carrie-Anne Ingrouille and musical supervisor Joe Beighton, with set design by Emma Bailey, costume design by Gabriella Slade, lighting design by Tim Deiling, sound design by Paul Gatehouse and orchestrations by Tom Curran. Casting for Six is by Pearson Casting.

SIX celebrated its New York debut last year, opening 18 months later than planned to stunning reviews at the Brooks Atkinson Theatre on Broadway. On 8 July this year, Six will return to Chicago, the city where the musical received its North American premiere.

The Australian touring production reopened at the Sydney Opera House in December 2021 while the touring production is continuing to play to packed houses across the UK.

Music from the production continues to smash records around the world. To celebrate the global success of the musical’s songs with 300 million streams and over three billion views on TikTok, the Studio Album will be available to purchase on vinyl from 11 March.

A VIP launch event was held in October 2021 at Banqueting House, on the site of the Palace of Whitehall built by Henry VIII, and livestreamed to the global Queendom by TikTok.
