Lucky Stiff, the first musical from the Tony Award-winning team of Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty is to be revived at London’s Union Theatre later this month.
The production, which will be directed by Paul Callen, will star Tom Elliot Reade, Natasha Hoeberigs, Natalie Moore-Williams, Tom Keeling, Jonathan Leinmuller, Ian Mccurrach and Lydia Marcazzo.
Elizabeth Bright, Beth Clarence, Tom Mann, Blake Patrick Anderson and Daniel Urch will complete the cast of the show.
Running from 27 September until 21 October with a press night on 29 September, the production will be choreographed by Jamie Neale, with musical direction by Richard Baker and design by Reuben Speed. The Union’s Sasha Regan will produce.
Based on Michael Butterworth’s book The Man Who Broke The Bank At Monte Carlo, the award-winning show was first produced by Playwrights Horizons Inc. off-Broadway in 1988. The musical comedy made its UK debut in Lincoln in 1994 before reaching the West End in 1997.
The Union Theatre has also announced the transfer of director Bryan Hodgson’s re-imagined version of classic British musical Salad Days. The production which ends its strictly limited season at the Off-West End venue on 9 September will play the Theatre Royal Bath from 12-16 September.
