West End stars and recent graduates to unite for charity concert

West End favourites and potential stars of tomorrow will join forces for an online charity concert in November. Hosted by Britain’s Got Talent’s Michael Auger and Charlotte Jaconelli, Spotlight on the Future LIVE! will be recorded live and streamed online from 6 to 9 November 2020.

Featuring a mix of solos, duos, trios and quartets, the concert will feature a line-up of established musical theatre stars including Steph Parry (42nd Street, Mamma Mia!), Danielle Steers (Bat Out Of Hell, Six), Joanne Clifton (Flashdance, The Rocky Horror Show), Luke McCall (The Phantom of the Opera, Les Misérables), Maria Coyne (Wicked, The Phantom of the Opera) and Lauren Drew (Six, Heathers) alongside 2020 graduates. The singers will be accompanied by a band featuring musicians from the West End production of Six.

Raising funds for the Make A Wish Foundation, Acting For Others, Stop Hate UK and Lebanon Red Cross, the show will feature performances of musical theatre classics and pop hits.

Announcing the concert, creator and producer Louis Rayneau said: “We are so excited to bring theatre fans a spectacular evening of song, presenting some of the West End’s brightest stars alongside up-and-coming young talents. The idea for this came to us following the success of our recent Spotlight on the Future web duet series, featuring many of the same performers. Getting to expand this into a full-length concert – all for some brilliant charity causes – is absolutely fantastic. Please get a ticket, tune in and enjoy the show!”

Rayneau heads a creative team that includes musical director and keyboardist Ed Court, technical director Kieran Powell, with hair and make-up by Lisa Antonelli and Paige Donaldson, artwork design by Craig Anthony Kelly, additional choreography by Rosie Napper and additional arrangements by Adam Hoskins. The band is made up of guitarist Amy Shaw, bassist Kat Bax and drummer David Talisman. The assistants are Josh Harrison Yellop and Benjamin Dwyer.

The line-up of performers also includes: Jade Davies (West Side Story, Les Misérables); Nikita Johal (Spring Awakening, Children of Eden): Hannah Grace Lawson (Les Misérables, Hairspray); Lucinda Lawrence (9 to 5, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory); Jason Leigh Winter (Wicked, Kinky Boots); Carl Man (Wicked, We Will Rock You); Nicholas Mclean (Wicked, Avenue Q); Genevieve Nicole (Chicago, Pippin); Natalie Paris (Six); Luke Street (Jersey Boys, Gypsy); and Michael Pickering (Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Starlight Express).

Graduate performers include Jodi Bird (Urdang), Alice Croft (ArtsEd), Carla Balls (Bird College), Sam Walter (Royal Academy of Music), Liam Gartland (Guildford School of Acting), Cassie McCluskey (Mountview), Georgia Lennon (Laine Theatre Arts), Andrew Ewart (Mountview), Katie Burton (Masters Performing Arts), Rosemary Bashford (The Musical Theatre Academy), Aoife Kenny (Laine Theatre Arts), Millie Cranston (Trinity Laban), Amelia Atherton (Performance Preparation Academy), Freya Humberstone (London School of Musical Theatre), Kyle Birch (London College of Music), Lewis Cudmore (Laine Theatre Arts), and Zak Marx (Emil Dale).

Early Bird tickets booked before 19 October 2020 will cost £10 per view plus booking fee. With tickets purchased after 19 October costing £15 plus booking fee. Ticketholders will have access to the concert until midnight on their selected viewing date.
