New production of musical drama San Domino to play Tristan Bates Theatre

An actor-musician production of San Domino, a musical drama based on Italian Fascist leader Mussolini’s infamous persecution of homosexuals will play London’s Tristan Bates Theatre in June.

With the book and lyrics by Tim Anfilogoff and music by Alan Whittaker, the show which previewed to a full house at Arcola Theatre’s Grimeborn Festival in 2014 will play the Covent Garden venue from Tuesday 5 to Saturday 30 June.

Directed by Matthew Gould, the musical tells the story of five men sentenced to spend five years on the island fortress of San Domino confinement for the crime of ‘degeneracy’.

The new production’s creative team includes: musical director and orchestrator James Cleeve, lighting designer Mitchell Reeve, and set and costume designer Faye Brad.

Produced by TKD Productions and M. Green Productions, the cast will be announced at a later date.
