Alexia Khadime will return to the role of Elphaba for the third time in the hit West End production of Wicked at the Apollo Victoria Theatre next spring.
Khadime (The Lion King, Lyceum Theatre) who first played the role in 2008 before reprising her critically acclaimed performance in 2009/2010, will star alongside Lucy St. Louis (Motown The Musical, Shaftesbury Theatre) who will step into the role of Glinda after playing Christine Daaé in The Phantom of the Opera at Her Majesty’s Theatre.
From 7 March 2023 the cast will also include Caitlin Anderson who will make her West End debut as Nessarose and Joe Thompson-Oubari who will step out of the ensemble to play Boq.
The company will also include Ryan Reid (Fiyero), Sophie-Louise Dann (Madame Morrible), Mark Curry (The Wizard), Simeon Truby (Doctor Dillamond), Amy Webb (Standby for Elphaba), Lisa-Anne Wood (Standby for Glinda), Yuki Abe, Kofi Aidoo-Appiah, Conor Ashman, Jessica Aubrey, Joshua Clemetson, Fergus Dale, Effie Rae Dyson, Nicola Espallardo, Danny Fogarty, Ross Harmon, Kate Leiper, Nick Len, Jemima Loddy, Joshua Lovell, PaddyJoe Martin, Millie Mayhew, Harry Mills, Daniel Parrott, Aiesha Naomi Pease, Jeanie Ryan, Natalie Spriggs, James Titchener, Micaela Todd, Christine Tucker, Jaydon Vijn and Taela Yeomans-Brown.
Current cast members Lucie Jones (Elphaba), Helen Woolf (Glinda), Carina Gillespie (Nessarose), Nicholas McLean (Boq), Meg Astin, Alishia-Marie Blake, Pàje Campbell, Michael Colbourne, Nolan Edwards, Laura Harrison, Amie Hibbert, Lucie Horsfall, Samuel How, Christian Knight, Jasmine Leung, Maggie Lynne, Rhidian Marc, Jessica-Alice McCluskey, Stacey McGuire, Lewis Newton, and Samantha Thomas will all play their final performances on 5 March 2023.
The producers recently announced the 34th booking extension for the crowd-pleasing show with 500,000 new tickets now on sale for all performances until 26 November 2023.
Now in its 17th year at the Apollo Victoria Theatre, Wicked is currently the ninth longest-running West End musical of all time and the fifth longest-running musical currently playing in the West End. Wicked in London recently welcomed its 11th million theatregoer.
The multi-award-winning tale of the Witches of Oz has won over 100 major international awards including three Tonys, two Oliviers and ten WhatsOnStage awards.
Based on Gregory Maguire’s novel which was written while the American author was living in London in 1990 and takes its inspiration from the creations of L. Frank Baum brought so vividly to life in the classic movie The Wizard of Oz, Wicked has music and lyrics by Stephen Schwartz (Disney’s Pocahontas and The Hunchback of Notre Dame).
Adapted for the stage by Winnie Holzman (cult TV series My So-Called Life), the show features musical staging by Wayne Cilento and the production is directed by Joe Mantello. Music arrangements are by Alex Lacamoire (Hamilton) and Stephen Oremus (Disney’s Frozen).
