Frances Mayli McCann and Jordan Luke Gage will reunite to star in Bonnie And Clyde The Musical when it returns to the West End in early 2023.
Olivier Award nominee McCann (Heathers The Musical, Theatre Royal Haymarket, Evita, Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre) and Gage (Heathers The Musical, Theatre Royal Haymarket, & Juliet, Shaftesbury Theatre) will play the title roles in the production’s strictly limited 11-week season at the Garrick Theatre from 4 March 2023.
The DLAP Group’s hit production received its West End premiere at the Arts Theatre earlier this year after the same producers presented two sold-out performances of Bonnie and Clyde In Concert at the Theatre Royal Drury Lane.
The production is staged by the director of the concert version, Nick Winston, reuniting with the concert’s set and costume designer Philip Whitcomb. The creative team also includes musical supervisor Katy Richardson, lighting designer Zoe Spurr, sound designer Tom Marshall, video designer Nina Dunn and casting director Jim Arnold.
Featuring music by Frank Wildhorn (Jekyll and Hyde, The Scarlett Pimpernel), lyrics by Don Black (Tell Me On a Sunday, Sunset Boulevard, Mrs Henderson Presents) and book by Ivan Menchell (The Prince and The Pauper Musical), the musical version of the story of one of America’s most infamous criminal couples had a short run on Broadway at the end of 2011.
Inspired by the story of Bonnie Parker and Clyde Barrow, their passionate love affair and their violent crime spree during the Great Depression, the musical features the songs ‘Raise a Little Hell’, ‘This World Will Remember Me’ and ‘Made in America’.
